Synopsis
Thief on the Cross
“Thief on the Cross” tells a fictional backstory of the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion, from the perspective of the thief who repented and was invited by Jesus to paradise. Why did one thief become a believer, and one did not? Writer-Director Paul Vincent Fusco tells the story behind the story – of a bitter and disillusioned thief, whose heart was softened and spirit awakened by an intriguing teacher and Rabbi.
“Thief” is a crime drama and a love story set in the Holy Land at the time of Jesus. It’s unique approach and biblical authenticity will both reinforce and bolster Christian beliefs and appeal to a wide audience.

Artistic Vision
Two thieves. One choice.
Those who study the Bible know the story of the two thieves on the cross. Why did one repent and the other rebuke? Where did these two men come from? What crimes had they committed to place them on the cross at the same moment as Jesus — and was this coincidence, or something far more powerful?
These were the questions posed to me when God gave me this story to write.
I approached "Thief on the Cross" not strictly as a faith-based genre film, but as an emotionally compelling crime drama — infused with Christian values — designed to appeal to both secular and non-secular audiences, throwing a wider net in hopes of bringing others to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
My cinematic vision is to shoot in widescreen format, with a stylistic approach in the tradition of epic films such as Ben-Hur, The Passion of the Christ, and Jesus of Nazareth. The film score will feature a full orchestral soundtrack that emphasizes the story's themes and enriches the visual narrative.
This is the beginning of my cinematic evangelism.
